Lazy Sunday Photos ...

It's a blustery day here in New England, overcast and in the upper 30's, but the ducks don't seem to mind the weather too much!

We finally named them, meet Bert and Ernie.
This is what happens when they realize I am picking kale...
then the other one comes running over...

and this is what happens after they eat all the kale!

  2. Ducks really are good entertainment for the garden.
My 2 ducks eliminated 18 million snails, slugs, japenese beatles and other veggie destroyers up here in Northern Vermont.
I will never garden without ducks again!!
I have 2 male silver appleyard drakes. Thier stories and photos are on my blog, starting in March. Don't laugh too hard when you read them.

  4. Beautiful blog! Dandelion House suggested visiting and I'm glad I did. I've been pondering whether to add two ducks to my backyard "homestead" in the spring (I have 6 laying hens). I'm happy to follow you.

    1. Thank you! Ducks are very quiet. The females quack but the males make a lower, hoarse quack. My two are males and only quack when they want my attention or something scares them, usually they are roaming the yard or sleeping. They are so much fun to watch and have in the gardens, I would highly recommend getting a couple!
